Farmers Markets

Here you will find bustling life and often home produced products, directly from the farmers.

(A) Chinon – Thursday
(A) Richelieu – Monday and Friday
(A) Bourgueil – Tuesday
(A) Azay-le-Rideau – Wednesday
(B) Langeais – Sunday
(B) Tours – Wednesday and Saturday the famous flower market (since 1874)
(B) Lencloître – every 1st Monday of the month – which, for me is THE typical French market

Flea Markets
A popular pastime of the French. Perhaps you will find a bargain!

(A) Chinon – every 3rd Sunday of the month.
(A) Montsoreau – every 2nd Sunday of the month
(B) Montreuil-Bellay – every 1st Sunday of the month
(A) Saumur – every 4th Sunday of the month

Markets with a Culinary Theme

Apart from the seasonal festivities and markets ( i.e. asparagus, garlic, basil or pumpkin) in many places you will find during the Summer period the much loved and sometimes medieval Night Markets, for example at Bourgueil, Ile-Bouchard, Loches etc

(A) Chinon – Marché à l’Ancienne (Procession and market as it was in 1900) 3rd Saturday in August
(A) Panzoult – Foire aux Vins (wine fair) – 1st May
(A) Cravant-les-Côteaux – Foire aux Vins(wine fair) – Whitsun
(A) Bourgueil – Foire aux Vins du Val de la Loire (wine fair featuring Loire wines) – 15th August
